Mr. Schmidt is a member of the Society of Childrens Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI-Rocky Mountain Region)
NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), Hawkquest and an annual contributor to the Sierra Club, The Conservation Fund,
National Wildlife Federation and The Nature Conservancy as well as the Wild Animal Sanctuary.
He is also a founding member of the Colorado Military
History Center, a member of VFW Post #1,
the National Guard Association of
Colorado and the Mile High Bull Terrier Club as well as the Porsche Club of America.
